Yes I was advised she is a Tongan by birth...her name we believe before marriage was Vaimomana Salesi. On the family search records we found her as Vaimoana Salesi Tupu on one occasion...she was taken from Tonga by a Wallisian half caste who ?married her - Benjamin Ambrose Smith...they had 5 children in Fiji - Wallis Island..., don't know about Tonga...

Benjamin Ambrose Smith died c1906 don't know if in Wallis Island or Fiji...Vaimoana went onto have 2 other children we think in Samoa so could have possibly also died there...but no records found on familysearch at this stage...

We just thinking of ruling Tonga out as a place of birth at this stage...
