Thanks. there is 3 photos under "Frankston hermit" on the nla website. I also have a mention of in a local history book "fishing, Sand and Village Days" an oral history of Frankston. It mentions "john Maddox" becoming a hermit after a ship he captained was wrecked killing people and that he was visted by a rich brother who tried to persuade him to come back to England with him.
