Read your post of 14/03 and looked into the Tasmania convict records in a little more details. Indications are that the Henry Owen(s) of the Sir Charles Forbes (Records Con 31 Image 86 // Con 18 Image 138) is indeed your man. He was 24 when convicted in 1830 i.e. born 1806. One of his clashes with the law in vDL was stealing a goose!! The records show that he made 4 applications for permission to marry -1836/1841/1844 and 1852(this to Mary Kelly). IGI has three records of this Kelly "marriage" with minor differences but each with an age of 31 ie. born 1821.
