"His burial plot is at Kangaroo Flat, a suburb of Bendigo. If he wanted nursing care I would have thought he would have got it in Mildura where his family were living at the time?

Thankyou for the information on Murray Downs that fits in perfectly with the family"

Doubt there were any aged care places in Mildura [I live in the area] in the 1930's. Not uncommon for the aged with dementia, mental health issues, terminal illnesses and remember there were the depression years, and no funds, to be admitted to places like the Bendigo Benevolent Asylum. Aradale at Ararat and Melbourne Benelovent Asylum at Cheltenham etc. Rail transport was available. You need to be au fait with the social conditions of the times when researching.

Perhaps a daughter or son were living in Bendigo. I am continually puzzled why people are so reluctant to purchase certificates to validate their research.

Off the soap box now :)
