Ok I checked my stuff and the Masons I was thinking of were in Bay City, Bay, Michigan...you night have already looked at these guys. I looked at your Joseph and at his marriage record. 1900 definitely says Canada Eng...for him and his parents...The family mentioned prior was indeed French Catholic...although they did attend Methodist churches at the end of the 1800's ...Jean and his wives were definitely Catholic except last wife..but he never converted. Since you know when he tragically passed I would definitely attain death cert and obit if you can. I know it says UNK for naturalization but those can have invaluable info on them if you can check the county and see if he ever got one. They helped me so much with hubbys family. Your Joseph's marriage record is nice it says Cyrus for father but I couldn't cross reference him...and mother Amos??? Maybe last name? He sure got married right away coming here to US. Good luck...took me 10 years to solve my one mystery...but it can be done. Oh I wanted to add this record I saw John George Mason d.17 Dec 1913 Saugeen Ind Reserve, Bruce ONT born About 1851 Father Cyrus Mason. Mother Do Not Know. Perhaps a brother? Worth checking into maybe.
