I received a copy of a marriage announcement for my own research, and found some other social news that might have genealogical interest for others on the same page.

From the October 29, 1945 issue of the Sparta Herald:
Mrs. Clara Harmon came friday and is a house guest of her cousin, Mrs. Mildred Barr, while spending some time visiting other relatives and old friends. Since selling her home on east Oak Street she is making her home with her son, Dr. John Harmon, and family in La Crosse.
