One of my great uncles, William Hughes married Elizabeth Roberts (1864-1958). They lived in Sparta, Monroe County WI. Elizabeth's parents were David Roberts, b. 1833 in Wales and in 1858 married Elizabeth, b. 1842 in Wales. They also had the following children: Ellen, b. 1861 in WI; Ann, b. 1866; John b. 1869 & died as a child; and David born Nov 1872. This David married Mary Drinkwine and they had at least 5 children, one was a son named David in 1909. Elizabeth Roberts Hughes and her husband are buried in Coles Valley Cemetery/AKA Mounds Prarie Cemetery. I visited there about 4 years ago. Have you checked out the Monroe County website at www.monroecountyhistory.org? They have a wonderful index and great newspaper archives. I have ordered and received many articles to help prove my HUGHES family history. I did find a Roberts, David S. 1909-in the cemetery index at this site for Mount Hope Cemetery. I suspect this was David and Mary's son, not sure though. Good luck.
