I am looking for any information regarding my gg grandfather Paul Mooney from Lemonweir,Wi. Paul Mooney was born in 1816 in Queens Co. Paul first came to the US in 1842 from information received. Paul left his wife Ann back in Ireland, it was some years later she came over. From Griffiths Valuation there was only 1 Ann Mooney in Queens Co. during that period of time (1848-1852), that was Mountrath (Queens Co./Co Leix/Co. Laois). 1860 census shows Paul Mooney and his family Ann (26),Mary(6),John(4),Elizebeth(2), and Catherine(4/12)
Paul Mooney first homesteaded the Lemonweir farm in 1855.
Paul when he first came here through the P.O.N.Y. (1842) with 2 other brothers. After reaching N.Y. they never saw each other again.
Apparently, from the information I received married another woman (name not detectible on headstone in St Marys (Lyndon Station area (Town Line Rd).Headstones read: Margaret Mooney 1863-19?,Paul Mooney 1863-1939,John F. Mooney 1886-1947,Erwin (Mike) P. Mooney 1893-1953, John Mooney Died- Aug. 8,1888(10 yrs old/8days),Catherine Mooney Died-Jan.3,1904,Catherine Mooney 1860-1867,John Mooney 1856-1866,
Ann Mooney 1826-1904,Paul Mooney 1816-1908,Edward Mooney 1888-1945, from what I could make out whats left of stone I believe the other wife of Paul was 34 yrs old Died Aug 28,1863. What also know what happened to St Bridgets Parish (prior St. Marys Lyndon Station records).
