hi, me again, I found the obit for the James Markham. He has a step-daughter, which didn't match the obit for the Marie Markham, she only had a son, last name Dean.
Here is his obit, maybe this will help you see if it is the right Marie. Just a suggestion, if you can't find another Marie Markham death in WV she possibly could have remarried, she was 22 years younger than him, or she could have moved to Michigan where her daughter is listed as living.

MARKHAM, James 75 of Chesapeake, died Monday at his home after a short illness. A lifelong resident of Kanawha County, Mr. Markham was a retired duPont worker. He was a deacon and trustee of Willis Memorial Baptist Church at Chesapeake. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marie Markham, two sons, Harry of Elkview and William Markham of Chesapeake a daughter, Mrs. Audray Vealey of Cleveland, Ohio, a step-daughter, Mrs. Jean Boswell of Michigan. four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is at Pryor Funeral home at East Bank.
