Trying to find more information on Mason Butler, mulatto/black, born circa 1802 in North Carolina. He was found in the 1850 Census living in Nansemond with his white wife Nancy Howell. He is also found in earlier censuses beginning with I believe 1820.

I'm trying to establish a connection between him and Martha Castellaw , mulatto, born about 1763, who was the daughter of John Castellaw and his mulatto lover, who was also named Martha Butler, born about 1739 in Bertie County.
