My ggrandmother, CHARATA BROWN (CHARITY),is listed as being
born in 1833 NC.
Cannot find any info on her or family prior to her family in Wilmington, NC in 1870 when she is listed as wife of
WILLIAM LAWRENCE WEELDON w/children: HAGAR, WILLjr, SARAH(WHILDEN), EMMA, MATILDA, and JOHN LAWRENCE, my grandfather.
I believe that both my ggrands were born in VA, as this is
where the WHEELDINS originated, but have yet to hear from anyone connected.
Believe also, that there is a family connection to the WEEDENS of Rhode Island (Black and Indian).
