The immmigration records I have don't go up to 1924. The 1940 census will not be available publicly until 3 years from now. If you have a US subscription to Ancestry, there are some local city directories for Rutland available in the databases, which has helped me. The other recommendation is to post on the Rutland message boards here too. There is also a site at www.rutlandhistory.com that you can join free and post on.

If you don't have a US records access subscription, let me know and I will see what I can find. (via email) It wouldn't be a whole lot because records are not made public in some cases until they are at least 72 years old.
