Hickory Wilder Young was born in Stanstead County Canada in 1846 and died April 24, 1906, at Provo, Utah. He came west while a small boy in 1854. Was married in 1865 to Miss Eliza Alford. Eleven children were born to them, five of them living. He was the son of Isaac and Martha Young. The deceased also leaves a brother, E. B. Young of Superior (NE), and a sister, Mrs. Luella A. Taylor of Provo, Utah, where we went in May 1905 to regain his health, making his home with his sister and uncle, Jas. F. Young. His health seemed to be improving, but the trouble with his stomach of a few years ago came back like a thief in the night, taking him from us with only eight hours warning. God's ways are not our way, but we must submit to the inevitable. His wife having died October 4, 1903, his children surviving to mourn his loss are as follows: Mrs. Martha Streyer of Superior, NE, Elmer Young of Provo, UT, Eugene Young of Marshall, CO, Mrs. Carrie Effenbeck of Provo, UT, and Mrs. Leola Mahaffey of Salt Lake City.

The deceased was a member of Elm Camp, No. 25 W.O.W. of superior, also of K. of P. No. 33. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Provo, April 26 at 2 p.m.
