I just found out who Ellen's parents were last week, so I don't have much information. Her mother was Mississippi Cotton Caperton. She apparently remarried after Benjamin Thrailkill died in 1854. In the 1860 census, they are in Pulaski Co AR (Gray Twp)Ellen and 2 siblings are listed.
Her mother is listed as Mississippi Wheler and step father is William B. Wheler.

Don't show them there in 1870. Understand they moved to TX.
I do know that Ellen married Wm Henry Coleman in Feb 1871 in Marion Co TX. We had been told Harrison Co TX. From what I can tell, Marion used to be part of Harrison Co TX. Some land records show up as both. I sent for a copy of the marriage license last week.
