I am needed some help finding information on the death of my Grandmother. Her name was Maggie Elnora Smith. She was born 3/11/1911 in Oden Ar. She married Henry McAlister Newman and had a daughter V.C. Evelyn, my mother.
My mother has Allzhimers and can not give me any infromation on the death of her mother.
I remember hearing stories that Maggie was found dead under a bridge. My father sems to remember seeing her living in Corpus Christi living with a man named Moon. He had a small grocery store and they had a room in the back of it. It was in a very bad part of town. He can not remember when it was but from piecing together some things it could been between 1949 and 1956. or in the early 60's, one. That was when we moved back to Corpus.
I would like to find out how she died and where she is buried. It had always been a mystery and all of her family is dead now. There is no one alive that has any information on her. I find that sad.
