Gloria J. Burkham, 58, of Carlsbad, NM died on Aug. 17. Cremation was taken place. Memorial services were held Aug. 20 at First Baptist Church In Carlsbad with Pastor Bob Bacon officiating.

Burkham was born April 9, 1949 in Mansfield, Ohio to Robert (Bob) Lee and Pauline Fugate Lee.

Burkham attended school in Carlsbad High School but moved to Van Horn High School in 1967. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Carlsbad. She taught fifth grade Sunday School and children's choir for many years.

She married Lewis (Charles) Burkham on June 18, 1971 in Loving.

She was preceded in death by her father on June 4, 1986 and her half-sister Diane Davis of Ohio.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Lewis (Charles) Burkham; mother, Pauline Lee of Carlsbad; brother, Ron Lee and wife, Gladys, of Cameron; daughters Paula Birmingham and husband, Scott, of Melissa, and Melinda Benedictos and husband Dale, of Carlsbad; son Charlie Burkham, of Carlsbad; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
