I have no evidence, but it does appear that he did.
Here is some of the info I have on them.

James Monroe Dooley and Benjamin Franklin Dooley
William L Dooley of Floyd/Polk County Georgia was married twice.
His first wife was Rhoda Bobo and second was Sarah Elizabeth Jemimia Hunt.
He had 2 children by his first wife and 14 by the second.
James Monroe Dooley 1851 and Benjamin Franklin Dooley 1848 were both born in Floyd County Georgia, sons of William L Dooley and Rhoda Bobo. Their mother died about 1851. They were left an inheritance in their grandfather Benjamin Bobo’s will.
In 1860 they are both living at home with their father and his second wife Sarah Elizabeth Hunt.
In 1870 Monroe is listed as a student living at home with his father. The value of Monroe’s real estate is 1,000 dollars, certainly a good bit at the time.
I am not sure where Ben is living.
In 1871 both marry in Polk County Ga
Ben marries Lizzie Venable
James marries Nancy E Hunt. 15 Sep 1871
Catharine Hunt , Nancy’s sister Catharine also marries
that year to Elijah Thomas Herriage
By 1880 both sons from his first marriage seemed to disappear from Floyd County. After the War Between the States, times were hard. Many families migrated west.
Around 1880, many several families from Floyd and Polk County Georgia moved to Arkansas. The Dodgen’s, Herriage’s, Dollar’s, were some of them.
These two Dooley brothers went also.
Three other Dooley brothers, Willis, William Henry and Pierce A. stayed in the area, and lived and died there.
William Henry died at 35, apparently choking on a peanut shell, but he had two wives and several children before he died. Many of his descendents live there today.
Pierce lived there and was an affluent farmer. His descendents live there today. Willis lived and died in Polk County GA. He married Mary Etta Dollar (sister of Idella Dollar), but had no children. On one document he is listed as a “friend” of the family, so he might be an adopted child.
My ancestor John Z. migrated to Alabama with his wife Idella Dollar and her parents and brothers. His descendents live mostly in Alabama now.
In 1880 Ben is living in Terre Noire, Clark, Arkansas, United States. I could not find James Monroe, but a widow Nancy E Dooley is living in Terre Noire with her sister’s family. (Her sister Joyce Catherine Hunt Heriadge)

James is identified in the census as the step son of Thomas Counts.
In 1910 Nancy Hunt Dooley Counts and husband Thomas are living with her son James Dooley and his family.
I lose track of Nancy Dooley Counts after that, but she dies in 1922.
Her second husband and her son are all buried at Carson Cemetery Fannin Texas
