In 1860, Wm. C. Hatfield appears in Fentress Co., with a wife, first child and his parents.

CENSUS: 1860; TN; Fentress Co.; District 9; Roll: M653_1249; Page: 52; Image: 106

Hatfield, Corroll 27 TN Farmer $800/$903
Hatfield, Elizabeth 20 TN
Hatfield, Martha E. 1 TN
Hatfield, Wm. 60 TN no occupation illiterate
Hatfield, Elizabeth 60 NC

The young couple had a second daughter named "Mary Hatfield" in Mar 1863, and both William Carroll Hatfield and wife Elizabeth are deceased before 1880. William Carroll Hatfield had a second family 4 children by Mary Smith, d/o John Smith & Eliza St. John who are also in Union Twp of Wright Co., MO, in 1880 as well.

Both Hatfield daughters of his first marriage(and Livingston Lavender) appear on the 1880 census of Union Twp, Wright Co., MO. The elder daughter Martha E. Hatfield appears as the wife of Francis Marion Weaver, and the younger daughter married Joseph Luallin (that's the spelling used) in Wright Co. after 1880 and migrated to Montana and later Washington State.

Mary HATFIELD Luallin married a second time in Spokane, WA, to Leroy A. Snyder on 6 May 1914. This marriage license specifies that her parents were "Carroll Hatfield" and "J. Lavender," both b. TN. (See at http://media.digitalarchives.wa.gov/WA.Media/jpeg/303A3CCAB4... )

Mary HATFIELD Luallin Snyder's mother "J. Lavender" seems to be the "Elizabeth J. Lavender" who lived 7 housholds from her future husband in Morgan Co. in 1850. The name and age do look correct, and her brother "Livingston Lavender" lives in the same neighborhood in Union Twp, Wright Co., MO, in 1880 as well.

Note: The maiden name of the wife of Jeremiah Hatfield is Elizabeth Hays, and the maiden name of the wife of Andrew Jackson Lavender is Elizabeth Howard, so this may further descendant information for Hays and Howard researchers as well.
