Much of the information I have on Jessee and Evaline Jackson is from the biographical article written by Robert Lester Jackson in the Humphreys County History, Vol. II. Jessee Jackson was born July 1816 in Stewart Co., Tn. Evaline was born abt. 1816-1817. He married Evaline in 1833 in TN. The Humphreys County history, p. 215 says that they came to Humphreys Co. from Stewart in spring 1850. My personal theory is that he is the son of Jesse and Elizabeth Jackson of Stewart Co., but I have no proof. There are many documents about Jesse (and brother James) in the Stewart Co. archives that I have not yet reviewed.

From the records of the Saline Creek Baptist church: Oct 17, 1812: Conference opened.... Also Bro Jesse Jackson and his wife Elizabeth was received to membership with [–} on a letter of dismission from the church at Powelton in the State of Georgia.
