NO! My Davie line was Elizabeth Davie McClanahan, daughter of William Shields and Kate Hall Davie, who was son of Patrick Henry and Elizabeth Shields Davie. Patrick was born in 1821, went to college in Lexington, VA, married in 1843, and William Shields was born in 1847. I don't know if my line links to James and Amelia's of Decatur County, other than the fact that both lines were out of SC around 1810. That would cover Pinkney and his siblings. Did Pinkney have a son named Pinkney, too? I seem to remember seeing Sarah Ellen with a son named Pinkney in Shelby County Census records around 1900.

We may have corresponded before and could you forward me a picture of Sarah Ellen. I had even talked by phone to Una Farris Allen when she was still alive. I knew about the Placerville McClanahan line. I don't have any direct linkage to the Decatur McClanahan line yet, but keep looking for the missing link! Do you know of any Carman links? There is a lady in my church whose mother is a Carman, and they are related to Dennis McClanahan.
