I have a Charleston, SC deed from David Joanes to Olivr Wallace, dated 16 Sep 1773, that states: "a certain plantation or tract of Land in Granvile [sic] County one hundred acres Lying and being on great Rockey Creek bounded on the south by [sd?] Creek and all other sides by vacant land ..."
Does anyone know why this area would still be referred to as Granville County when it was discontinued in 1769?
Does anyone know the geographic location of "Great Rockey Creek" in the old Granville County, SC?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you
