Dr. John B. Kelly was born in 1831 in Clarendon County to Mary Pack (daughter of Joseph Pack)and Daniel Kelly. John died in 1865. He had only one child, Julia Caroline Kelly. This John Kelly who married Catherine Chisholm is not the son of John B. Kelly (according to the research done by my cousins Glenn and Windy Corbett). His military service records are located at the SC Archives. He is buried at Paxville Baptist Church Cemetery, located west of Paxville, SC, off of highway 261. Head toward Pinewood from Paxville and watch for a small sign on the right. Family stories have it that John B. Kelly married a woman from Florida, however her name is not known and she died while Julia was very young. Julia was brought to Paxville to be raised by John B.'s sisters. Julia was my great-grandmother.
