looking through old messages and found yours again. My grandmother, who was married to an Audet, had the maiden name of CARIGNAN. I was doing her lineage, and came across the Carignan Regiment in Quebec.It appears that Thomas, Prince of Carignano (Turnin, Italy) sent a regiment to Quebec which arrived in 1665. In the Monteil Company of the Regiment, one Nicolas Audet (La Pointe). A very interesting piece of history, Yes? (new email - fahahn@charter.net)
