I note the date of this post, but I will reply anyway. I hve been searching the York County area for information about Adam Bowyer, as he is my 5th-greatgrandfather on my paternal side. I know that he was born in York County, the date you reference to Michael Bowyer, Sr., also of York, PA. mother unknown at this time....Adam Bowyer, Sr. married Christine Lauderbach/Lauderback of York/Lancaster area. They moved to Monroe County, WV/Va and had 13 children...l0 living according to Monroe Book, page 314. Adam Bowyer, Sr. was brother to Michael Bowyer, Jr., Captain in the Revolutionary War, born in 1730. Michael, Jr. married Sarah Frances Carpenter (family owned 950 acres of land in Greenbrier County, WV/Va where The Greenbrier Resort is now located. A lot of history about it. Contact me if you would like more info about the family. I am trying to link Adam, Sr., and Michael Bowyer, Sr. to the York County area. The historian of The Greenbrier, Joseph S. Conte, says in his book "The History of The Greenbrier-America's Resort" that Michael Bowyer could trace his roots back to Edmund Bowyer who came to Jamestown with the first English settlement in 1607. They were a member of large and influential Virginia family. Other post refers to Luke Bowyer...the Luke I have was also a son of Michael Bowyer, Sr., brother to Adam, and was an attorney in practice of law firm in VA with Patrick Henry. He married the sister of Patrick Henry, Mary Jane Henry, but they had no children. The Luke referred to in other post might not be the one mentioned., and I don't have a Daniel at this point. Contact me if you need more info about Adam, etc. I have children's name, and more facts about the family. Sheila Bowyer Kline, Bluefield, WV P.S. Adam and Christine also had a son named Adam Bowyer, Jr. Adam, Sr. died @ 1800 in Monroe County, WV.
