In the 1810 census for Lancaster there were the following McCurdys:
{John}Adams
Archibald
Charles
Collin
James
Robert
Daniel
Daniel
Widow
Of interest to me are Charles and Collin. I believe they may have been brothers(or at least 1st cousins) who had sons who carried their names, Collin and Charles , both born bet 1808-1810, best guess is in Lancaster Co.
The Charles born 1810 was my gggrandfather. Both he and Collin McCurdy born 1810 were in Dauphin Co. in 1840 where they both reported mother and father born PA.(although, on one census they reported parents born ib Ireland. Collin married Louisa Sprangler from York Co. and Charles married Margaret Quickel from York Co.
Collin had a son named Collin who was killed 1865 in Winchester, VA,in the Civil War and Charles had a son named Charles who was killed, 1863 at the battle of Memphis, in the Civil War.
Collin also had a son named Charles. They both had daughters named {Anna} Mary.
Charles moved to Illinois in 1850, dying there. Collin's son, Benj. Franklin, also migrated and died in Illinois. Too many similarities for there not to be a direct relationship.
I know there must be a direct link to all or some of the McCurdys in the 1810 Lancaster census, but, I just can't piece together the missing link.
I am quite sure that Walkers and Stewarts also play a direct lineage here.
