Many of you mentioned that ancestors you know are buried at the cemeteries at the Catholic Cem Assoc did not come up in their database, myself included. I had to call Calvary yesterday (husband's grandparents tombstone fell over) and since the woman who I was speaking to was so nice and helpful I thought I would ask her about missing names in the database.
I KNOW there are Mumfords buried at St. Mary's but none in the database (no matter how I spell it). Gave her the name. she checked from her end--nothing. But she checked their card file and called me back--with 6 Mumfords at St. Mary's. So if you are missing people it may be worth your while to call and have them check the card file.
The Mumfords were very old burials but she couldn't find husband's grandparents in the database either to put a work order in for the tombstone--had to go the card file. They are much more recent (1949 & 1977).
The other bit of advice she gave me was on finding graves at St. Mary's. I asked if they had detailed maps of the sections there. They do not (apparently have a few very old ones but she said they are not accurate). she said the best bet for help is to visit the cemetery between 7 am and 3 pm and look for "Sam". He is the caretaker--usually riding around in his truck. she said he "knows every dead person" in the cemetery.
