The following is from a 2000 email on this site hope that it can be of some help. Look for other emails with my name "Jack Novicki" concerning the Bishoff/Bishop line:
Mr. Steve Gilland publishes the "Bishop/Bishoff Newsletter". You can contact him at 507 York Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. A modest donation to help him cover printing and mailing cost would be nice. This is my idea not his. Steve has a encyclopedic knowledge of the Bishop/etc. family in Adams Co., PA.
Search this site for Irene Berg. She has published a book on the Metz family, one of it's Adams Co. founding lines is the Bishoff/etc. family from southern Adams Co. Irene has done extensive research on this line. She is also a past-president of the DUV, "Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War". She and her book will be of great help to you. If you get to Gettysburg go to the Adams County Historical Society. They have extensive files on many family names from Adams Co. Good Luck, Jack
