Hi,
Thank you for replying! Since I submitted that request, I have found out a few more things, but still not his birth record.
His name is Ralph Robert Barnes according to his adult records, but was listed as John R. Barnes on 1910 Census living in MacOupin, Illinois, with mother, Maggie (Margaret Blanton) and father, Robert Barnes (Robert's father's name is John). In 1920, he was with his mother and step-father, James Nanny, in Lola, Kansas. His birth place was listed as AR on these censuses but on 1930 census he is in Kansas City, MO with first wife, Hazel, and his birth place is OK. His 3 marriage records that I have found and my fathers birth record all list Oklahoma, some say Red Rock, Noble County. His birth date is 7 Oct 1907. His obit from Kansas City Star in 1959 states birthplace as Oklahoma.
Oddly enough, I found a Ralph R. Barnes in Red Rock in 1910 that was born around the right time and I was sure I had found him. However, upon further research, the mother is wrong and this man is still in Red Rock later married with children.
I have received help from two other wonderful people who found my posts here and on Genforum - one actually has a family connection. I love how generous genealogical researchers are.
If you are able to find his birth record or anything else, that would be so awesome and much appreciated. I look forward to your reply.
Thank you,
Cheryl BARNES Salvi
