Found the following in Highland County Births 1867 - 1878 Compiled by Genevieve Breakfield 1992.

Carpenter, male Born 7-23-1868 Union Twp. Parents: Daniel Carpenter, Julia Carpenter

This is the only Carpenter birth in this book.
