Johnson ancestor for quite awhile. I was hoping maybe you could help me.

My gg grandfather was Columbus "Lynell" Johnson, b 1857 - d 1926. He lived and died in Ashe County, married to Cynthia J. Brooks-Miller Johnson. I have a copy of Lynell Johnson's death certificate. The information was given by a J.A. JOHNSON. His mother's name is listed as POLLY JOHNSON from Wilkes County. (Father listed as "unknown") Older family members have always said "the Johnsons came from Wilkes Co. "

I have not been able to find information on a Polly Johnson or a Mary Johnson (Polly was often a nickname for Mary) that would have been the approximate age for being the mother of a child born in 1857.

I figure the person, J.A. Johnson, giving the information Could offer clues as I don't think Lynell Johnson had any children with those initials. but this could possbily be another family member.

Do you have anyone listed as a Polly (or Mary) Johnson who could have had a child in 1857?
