I am tracing my matrilineal genealogy and have a little snag. My 3x great grandmother is Jessie Lafayette Price (b 1847 Alabama) her mother was Sarah Ann Edwards. According to the information I can find online Sarah was born around 1815-1817 to Stephen Edwards and Martha Elizabeth Waterman. It has come to my attention that Stephen Edwards was married prior to an Elizabeth Carraway and that they had a daughter named Sarah ("Sally") between 1810 and 1812. Are these 2 different daughters with the same first name or is my 5th great grandmother actually Stephen's 1st wife Elizabeth Carraway?
