Your line maybe originated in Cabarrus County, but there were lots of prominent FISHERS also in Rowan County, NC. One that comes to mind is CHARLES FISHER who was a wealthy Salisbury, Rowan CO,, politician/businessman around the time of the Civil War. He financed the raising of a Regiment, and as Colonel of the Regiment, he was killed leading a Rowan Regiment. You might check out the Rowan website thru USGenWEB. The name Christiana Fisher caught my eye and it is a name that is repeated later in Salisbury.
