I am looking for information on a JOHN FLETCHER of Buncombe Co., NC. He is believed to be associated with my ABNER PACE (b.1821), who was apprenticed as an orphan in Guilford Co., NC, at the age of 16. When Abner married, he and his wife (JULIA ANN REED) named their only child JOHN FLETCHER PACE (1844-1901Rowan Co., NC). I am unable to find the parents of my orphaned Abner Pace, but suspect his parents were in some way affiliated with JOHN FLETCHER of Buncombe.

I know there was a Needham Pace born in Buncombe in 1836, and Needham is another name associated with my Pace family.
