How exciting. Charlie Ross Cook was my grandfather. He married Myrtle McClung of Pocohantas County West Va and in 1919 moved to Covington, VA and opened the first grocery store. Later opened a second. Retired in 1938 and served as Vice President of Covington National Bank which became Virginia National Banks which B&BT bought this past year.
He also served on the bank's Board of Directors. He was born 1884 and died in Covington, VA on Fudge Street in 1945 with a stoke. He had four children, one of which was my Dad. I am just starting to put all this stuff down on paper. How can we exchange information? Have you gotten any further than Jonathan Cook? I've had an awful time with this, no one is alive to help.
