I found some Stricklands on the 1880 Census of Horry County, in the Simpson Creek area, living with Armstrong S.H. Martin.
Armstrong Martin ( I believe this is Armstrong S.H. Martin)
age 55 yrs old.
Elizabeth Martin (wife) age 44 yrs old
Sara Strickland (daughter) age 23 yrs Widow?
William D. Strickland (grandson) age 6 yrs
Frances M. Strickland (grandaughter) age 4 yrs
Avie or Amy? J. Strickland (grandaughter) age 2 yrs

Do you know who Sara Strickland's husband was?

Also on this same census was Dougal Martin and his family.
He was a son of Armstrong S. H. Martin.
John Martin, another son is also on this census.
