Petriska, looks like I messed up in the original post - May was born in 1884, not 1882. I do have it correctly in my tree. After your initial post, I emailed the Utica city clerk to request a death certificate but haven't heard back. Looks like that's the way to go, so I will give them a call, since it appears going through NY state records takes 8 months or more. I may also try Philmont as it's worth a shot for birth certificate. I'll let you know how it works out.

Vansicklen, your leads look so promising! I will check them out. William Myers would be geographically close if he's her dad. How did you find out Caroline Myers' maiden name of McDonald, and where did you find the newspaper articles? I've had luck with fultonhistory.com but am always looking for good sources.
