Hi Julie and thank you for your reply. I have looked at this family on more than one occasion, however unless James was present at both 1880 census , i'm struggling to connect the families.
Depending on the month the CT and NY census were taken, would this have been possible for James to be on both ?
I will check the dates on that .

The Patrick Hyland on the U.S directory could also be the same one i'm researching, however with so many Patrick's and Hyland's who knows.
