Hi! Yes, I have many Babcocks, and the mother of the subject of my inquiry, Samuel Wells, was Susannah Phillips. I believe she is the daughter of Thomas Phillips, Revolutionary war pensioner, and Martha Jones, but I have little proof of that. I have many Babcocks, but they don't marry into the Wells family until two generations later. I have the Babcock genealogy book and have that part of my family fairly well documented.
Because my Samuel Wells (b. February 10, 1793, Petersburg, Renssalaer County, NY) might have other Wellses in the area north of Petersburg (Cambridge), I am very interested in your comment, but don't really know how to pursue it. I know that Samuel had nine siblings: Sally Ann (b. March 13, 1791, m. George Armsbarry), Olive, Phebe, Coon, Benjamin, Martha, Priscilla, Thomas, and Matilda. I know that Samuel's parents, Caleb Wells and Susannah Phillips, were married in Petersburg abt. 1790. Thanks for reply.
