I don't know if this helps -- However My great grandfather
Daniel O'Rourke arrived in New York in 1860 from Ireland.
He would have been looking for what ever and
where ever the jobs were. His background was farming.
I'm thinking Coal City might have been the name of a mining camp perhaps in the adirondeck. Thank you for your help, Dan.
P.S. There is a Coal City in Ill. and Indiana.
