My husband descends from Nathaniel C. Warner and his first wife Eleanor Courtright who were married c. 1835 or before. I have not found their marriage record.
They had three sons -- William was born c. 1836 and was killed during the Civil War. He died unmarried.
My husband descends from their second son James Riley Warner who was born May 31, 1839, in Windham, Bradford Co., PA. Nathaniel C. Warner was found on the 1840 census for Warren, Bradford Co., PA, with a wife and 2 sons, who I assume are William and James.
Their third son was Lorenzo Warner born c. 1841. Lorenzo also was killed during the Civil War. Unmarried.
At some time between 1841-1846, Nathaniel C. Warner and his wife Eleanor divorced. Thank you for his 1847 marriage date to Jane, as I did not have it.
Nathaniel's first wife Eleanor also remarried. She married Oliver Wait. They can be found on the 1850-1880 census living in Windham, Bradford Co., PA.
Eleanor (Courtwright) Warner Wait was listed by the military as the mother (and heir) of her sons William and Lorenzo Warner. She received their back pay in 1874.
Before he enlisted to serve in the Civil War, James Riley Warner lived in East Nichols, Tioga Co., NY, near Waites Settlement. After the war was over, he went back to East Nichols to live, then married Jane L. Garrison of Tracy Creek, Broome Co., NY. This is my husband's connection to Nathaniel C. Warner. He descends from his son James Riley Warner.
I live in California. My address is: Helen Graves, 4074 Hwy 147, Lake Almanor, CA 96137.
Who Nathaniel C. Warner's parents were has been a brick wall. I have looked at Warners in Bradford Co., PA, and across the state line in Tioga Co., NY.
