My gr-gr-grandfather William Johnson came to New York with his wife Sarah/Sally. his son My gr-grandfather William Johnson Jr. and his wife Rebecca, His son, Isaac and his wife Eunice and the rest of the family of William Sr. lived in Harretstown NY. They then came to Minnesota. Census list William as being born in Canada but his father being from Ny. I have been told that some of the family are part Native American. My grandmother was first refused to be allowed at the Fort in Fairmont, MN during the Dakota War as she looked like an Indian.she was about ten at the time. William and Rebecca came to the Fairmont area where her folks were living and William Sr. and some others came to the Rushford Mn area. That is all I came give you. I have been trying to find a connection to Sir William Johnson. but it is hard as he had too many women. The family seem to think that William Sr.'s Father was a William also and he was married to a Reena Dixon and that he had a brother John who also came to the Fairmant M Can you help in any way?
