Melville F. Clark, 71, of R.D. 1, Frewsburg, owner and operator of the Ivory Grocery Store for the past 11 years, died at 4 AM today at his home.

He was born on May 5, 1881, on the Town Line Road, Fluvanna. He spent his early life in Fluvanna as a farmer, before moving to Ivory.

Mr. Clark was the son of Carey and Emma Ferguson Clark.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lillian M. Clark; two daughters, Mrs. Richard W. Bissell, Jamesown and Mrs. Lynn A. Kelley of McDill Field, Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. A. L. Hoard, Jamestown, and one brother, Lyndalle Clark, Jamestown.

The body is at the Blair Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
