Joseph W. Van Valkenburg, age 85, a resident of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, and former longtime resident of the Albany, N.Y. area, died on April 18, 2010 following a long illness. Born in Albany, January 30, 1925, the son of the late Earl and Mary (Goodman) Van Valkenburg and educated in Albany schools. Joseph had worked for the New York Central Railroad and later as an auto mechanic and gasman.
