Her name was Penina Walston. She married Thomas Van Swearingen in Shawneetown, Gallatin Co., IL, on Jan 1, 1829.I believe she is a youngersister of my ancestor Levi Moore Walston who was born in Greene Co., NC, in 1792. He arrived in Gallatin Co., IL, in 1819 and married Phebe Rude there in 1822. Levi and Phebe (Rude) Walston named their first daughter Susan (after Phebe's mother) and their second daughter was named Penina. This can't be a coincidence.
