Killian Samson's son, Anton, married Alice Herpst in Litchfield, Montogmery Co, IL in Jan 1891.
Alice isn't on the 1880 census with her family but neither or two other confirmed silblings--unless she's the one indexed as Sarveria. The age would be right. Sometimes seen as HerBst.
Alice's mother is Caroline Muhlberg/Milberg.
"Butler [Grove], IL. Marriage registry from Montgomery County verified parents Charles Herpst and "Caro. Mullberg"
Jan 28, 1891 Alice "will be 19 next birthday". Emma was born (March 1873) so Alice would have had to have been before June 1872. Alice and Anthony were married in Litchfield, IL. G. Pesch, Roman Cath Priest certified. Witnesses were Chas. Zuber and Sophia Samson. Anthony will be 24, and is a cooper in Litchfield. Son of Kilian Samson (Killian Sampson from Baden) and Helen Fahr. First marriage for both."
They had a daughter Lela Helen Samson.
In the 1900 census, Lela, 9, is with her grandmother, Helene Samson (new married name indexed as Ellen Bouss) in Montgomery Co, IL

In 1900 Anton is over in Charleston, Mississippi County, MO for the rest of his life. He is listed as single but I bet he's widowed. In 1903 he remarries Mary Elizabeth Brennan. They both die in 1948. DCs are on the MO SOS site. Mrs. Lela Brown (Mrs. Joseph E. Brown), Anton's daughter with Alice is the informant.
In the 1910 Lela is living with Anton and new wife Mary Elizabeth who apparently never told Lela who her parents were.
