Thanks for responding, Leah. Yes, Nancy Chesser & John Williams were my 3x-great-grandparents. I’ve learned a little more about them in the last few years, such as other children besides my great-great-grandmother, Nancy Jane Williams. I have your Richard Marion listed in my family tree. Are you descended from Richard’s son, Roy?

E. D. was most likely Nancy. She was only four months old at the time of the 1850 census in Taney Co, MO. I’m wondering if she was first named after her grandmother, and then later changed her name before the 1860 census, as Nancy is listed as ten years old.

This excerpt is from Ivanell Chesser’s message on the board dated 4 Aug 1999):
“1860 [referring to Taney Co, MO] no S. or D. Chesser, son James age 26 TN, wife Sarah 24 ILL, Mary Jr. 3 MO, Mary Senior 18 MO. John and Nancy Williams, their children: Richard 11 MO, Nancy 10 MO, William 6 MO, Mundy 4 MO, Emily 2 MO, Melvina 1 MO.”

Do you have any information yet on John Williams’ parents?? And do you know if Nancy remarried after John's death?
