In between what years would a person be considered a pioneer in Nodaway County, Missouri?

Henry Peden (Henry Draper Peden?) is mentioned as pioneer of Nodaway County Missouri in an Idaho biography of William M Peden published in 1903. Henry md to Mary E. Johnson between 1861 [enlisted 36th Ohio Infantry] and discharge in 1864 when Henry was at home recovering from a left leg wound received at Lookout Mountain. After his discharge in 1864 they moved to Davies Co, Iowa and in 1872 moved to Ohio and then back to Iowa and then to Gage County, Nebraska. There were 6 boys and 3 girls. William was the oldest b 25 Nov 1865 in Davis Co Iowa. Other siblings in Williams obit 1934 were Fred, Walter, Wiltes, and sister Dora Peden Woodcock.

William M Peden md Laura Nancy Guthrie Jan 14 1886 in Wymore, Gage, Nebraska and her father, name not mentioned but possibly William H Guthrie, was mentioned as a pioneer of Nodaway County also.
