Yes, I finally found your posts (email address changes can be a pain!) and the Alvis you have located is my Alvis. He is my grandfather's cousin. I did not realize Bettie had been married before until I saw the Slaughter name in that census listing. Haven't had a chance to review and digest the rest of it but maybe something will be my key I've been looking for for several years.
