I am searching for any information that I can get on Robert Deaton WORRELL of Mexico, Audrain Co. I believe he was born abt 1860-1870. He was a barber at one time and eventually was at least a part owner of WORRELL's JEWELRY STORE in downtown Mexico.
He had one daughter named Elizabeth who never married and was a speech & drama professor at Northeast Missouri State College in Kirksville (now Truman State College, I believe).
She was teaching there as late as 1965-1968.
He may have had a son and one or two other daughters as well.
I was always told growing up that Elizabeth was a "cousin" of my grandfather Rudolph Worrell GREEN. I have been trying to establish a concrete link to this family for quite some time with no luck...I cannot find ANY connection to the Worrell surname anywhere!
My grandfather's parents were George W. (Worrell???) GREEN and Alice Willie ELLER of Audrain County.
Please, post reply here or to my direct email address: rodagreen@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help!
