I have recently run across on the internet a document entitled "Records Graves of Confederates to be Marked" that indicates I have several ancestors who served in the Confederacy who are buried in Mexico and/or Audrain Co., MO.
1) Abe Eller, who served in the MO. Cavalry, Co. D,
Perkin's Battalion, 9th Mo. Regiment, is supposed to
be buried in "Eller Cemetery".
2) Abraham Eller, who served in Co. D, Perkin's Battalion,
Price's Army, is supposed to be buried in the "Eller
Graveyard, Audrain County".
3) Capt. William Eller, who served in 2nd MO. Infantry,
Gen. Little's Brigade, Bowen's Division of Pemberton's
Army, is said to be buried in "Mexico, MO."
My son and daughter-in-law plan to be in Mexico, Audrain Co.
the last week of February and would like to locate these burial sites. Does anyone know the location of an "Eller Cemetery" or the "Eller Graveyard"? Or any suggestions on who to contact in Mexico or Audrain County that might know of its existence.
We have traced my great grandmother Alice W. ELLER GREEN's ancestry all the way back to Matthes ELLER who was born in 1585 in Koenigsburg, East Prussia, Germany and would love to locate this ELLER Graveyard.
Also, am interested in finding the burial site of Pack GREEN
who is also listed in this record as a "Confederate Missouri Spy".
Thanks for any help you can provide.
